World Alzheimer's Day 2021

World Alzheimer's Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness and highlighting the challenges faced by people living with dementia. It's a day for people to demonstrate how we can overcome these challenges and assist individuals with dementia.

With nearly 50 million individuals living with dementia worldwide, dementia is one of the most pressing issues we face. To overcome this obstacle, we must work together and collaborate in order to exchange best practises.

Alzheimer's disease is a disease that affects memory and other mental functions over time. It is the most prevalent type of dementia, characterised by generalised memory loss and other important cognitive abilities that interfere with a person's everyday life.

Since the campaign began in 2012, World Alzheimer's Day will be celebrated for the tenth time this month. According to earlier surveys, two out of every three people in the world have little or no knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and related dementia in their own nations.
