Catherine: Bringing Joy and Compassion to Care as a Senior Carer

Hello, my name is Catherine, and I am a Senior Carer with Care and Carers.

People often ask me why I became a Carer. It’s a valid question as Adult Domiciliary Care was not my background.

I started my career working in Education, moving on to work for Bucks CC supporting families with children 0-5 years old. I progressed to being a Family Support Worker in Children’s Services.

All the above work experiences have given me the knowledge and communication skills to work with vulnerable people, to really listen, to work harmoniously with people and to strive to make positive changes.

So, to answer the above question, I love my job. No two days are ever the same and working with people genuinely makes me happy.
I feel this shows in my work.
I always arrive with a smile and leave with a smile.
Sometimes it’s about the little things, really listening to our clients, laughing together, problem solving together, even singing and dancing together.

I take the approach with clients that I feel I would want for my family members. To be kind, confident, warm, understanding and dignified.

I look forward to meeting you and your loved ones.
